    Chucks 41 Willys Coupe

Can anyone help me fill in details about the car I have recently bought.
What I know (believe) is it is an ex CCSE car (minus engine, box & ignition), built by Dale Reardon (West Coast Racing), for Richard Homewood ~2003 with parts supplied by LA Racing, still on their websites contact page. It was sold to Trevor Jones and then to Steve Kellett, who I aquired the car from.
She has a full tube chassis & Steve had a steel firewall, tunnel & floor fitted by Jon Webster. She had been tagged to run 7.5's but could be possibly now be tagged for 6's?
The build quality on the car is fantastic but she has got a little rough around the edges, not that important, but I would eventually like to put her back to her best.
What I would like to know is can anyone tell me where the glass body was sourced & what colour is she?
What spec was the original engine, torque converter, box etc?
What ratio, halfshafts etc does the axle have?
What times did she manage on the strip? & any thing else anyone can tell me.

    Thanks for your help
    Ian

Cheers Mygasser, would love to have taken credit for the car, can't really believe the car isn't better known than it is. John Sleath put me onto it when I asked his advice about buying a different car.
The car was at the max of my budget, hence the delay putting running gear in, but at least it forces me to look at different options. I think she deserves the best I can possibly put in. Considered BBC but that would mean front frame would need altering to take the motor plate.
    Thanks again.

    Cheers once again Torment.
Sorry about the slow reply but wifey was dragging me round B&Q to look at decorating stuff, managed to duck into tool isles.
Been on Quartermilehigh website, back copies only go back to 2005, will have to give them a ring and see if there is anything available before then as well.
Probably see you at the Mopars, invite goes both ways, we will be camping with the rest of the spectators. Look out for son's Li'l Red Truck and we will have a few drinks.

Hi, ya Willys was on SE dvd in 2003 driven by Dale Reardon and, later in the season, Trevor Jones. The chassis is chrome moly so should be good for a 6.0 cert. The engine was an ICE-built 383 with ye olde world products sportman heads, with around 500 brake. Trevor bought it with the intention of running a twin turbo set-up from Dale Reardon but I think it never happened due to ill health. It did run down into the low 10s on the 383 though. Hope that helps!

Doesn't look 'too rough round the edges' to me Bud,looks fkn great! Are you keeping the BGW (big gay wing) off the back? or is that a necc evil for strip use? -only IMO of course, it compleley screws up the body line, but fully understand its use. Nice build quality.

    Cheers Olddave.
I'll order that dvd, I talked to a young lady at Quarter mile high, she said she knew the car & would go through the SE dvds and let me know which one's it was on. What service!
Good to know about ability to be cert'd to 6.0, I won't be going anywhere near that but reassures me that it'll handle anything I throw at her.
    Thanks again Ian.

She's not at all bad, just a few patches of paint where stickers been removed & a few stress cracks in the lighter weight panels. Ideally would eventually like a set of panels for go and another set for show (in an ideal world).
The BGW was the only reason I bought the car. I'm a child of the 70's-80's. Seriously though it can be unbolted & removed in 2 minutes. Hopefully it'll be fast enough to need it.
    Thanks for the post.
