    Oldest club uk

    Just thought but who can lay clame to be the oldest hotrod or custom club in the uk as all this must have started somewhere ....

    Oldest still going or first ? First may well be The Highwaymen, back in the late 50's early 60's I believe.
    Longest still going probably Chelmsford Drag and Hot Rod club, formed slightly earlier than Surrey Street Rodders ,and around the same time as the Southern Roadsters .

    I was told that sadly Norm Wildings old "Pieces of Eight" was broken up years ago.Thats one car that should be re-created

    I'm in there, Standing in the back row. My two Brothers Too.
    I.d'd most of those there. That Pop front row to the left of Humph.
    Gold metal flake, Diamond tufted denim over stock Pop seats. Stock Pop running gear, early VW rims. Loved it. Is it still about?

    Could not agree more,i remember seeing the zephyr running at the pod back in the 70s what a great car.The 70s christ was it that long ago.
