    Reestomod Camaro

New to the group - great threads.
I'm planning to import a resto-mod '69 Camaro with its original chassis, but fitted with a modern Camaro engine and suspension.
#1 - will I be taxed upon import as a modern car ?
#2 - any issue with DVLA and MOT ?
#3 - I might later bring the car to France or Germany - nervous about not being able to register later in these countries
Any comments are much appreciated. Cheers !

If it's not standard and IF it gets inspected you won't be able to register it as Historic .Same applies in Frnce and Germany.

A modified car makes it non Historic and that attreacts a higher rate of import duty which SHOULD tell DVLA it's been modified and requires inspection.

If it is classed as non Historic the only way to register is via the BIVA test which it won't pass because it hasn't been built to pass

The glass specifications it requires to pass make it highly unlikley to be testable( or VERY expensive IF it's possible ).

From the point of view of getting it registered you would be better iporting a stocker and doing BOLT ON mods here ( search 8 points systemm ) . This will still not be acceptable in France or Germany, only here.
