help registering a car

Hi any info would be greatly appreciated!

i have recently bought a model a body that had been imported from the states, the car didnt come with a title or v5.

Is it possible to buy a clean title with a pair of plates from america and then register the car over here?

I really dont want to go down the S.V.A route and was wondering if this was possible.
