This is the mine starting to take shape.
I used to be round my mates house alot in a room smaller than that, with a drum kit covered in tea towels etc and having a good jam. Not anymore, he moved away
not quite the same but when my lads go into D n B and started 'mixing' we got heaps of complaints (not surprised really coz its crap lol)
so we got a concrete sectional double garage and built a soundproof 'studio' at the end of the garden, one half for mixing and the other half with tv/ dvd/ playstations etc so when their mates come round they aint all cluttering up the house
christened the 'shedio' they can now mix to their hearts content at whatever time they like without ****ing off anyone, we even got the local environment officer round with his 'noiseOmeter' to check it out whilst in use and he went away happy
keep em outta trouble too - double bonus

hahaha i learnt the hard way, this is me, aged 17/18 (1987 ish) in my 'studio' - my mums spare room where our old punk band used to practice.........
we wanted a garageband but we didnt have a garage and 'spareroom band' didnt have quite the same ring to it - im sure thats why we didnt make it big lol
wife was a keyboard teacher, so we had keyboards then my son was born he started to show an interest so we had drums, bass and lead guitar mixing stuff, stage passes etc he also did some d j ing so we had lights mixing deck,s etc he,s now gone to london for 4 years to university and will hopfully be a profetional drummer when he returns,
When we're feeling posh we call the room our library all the walls are lined with books-about cars, ships, buses, 'planes and trains, navigation, music, local history, etc etc but its also where we play any of 2x violins, 2x guitars, a ukelele, 3x button accordians, 2x Appalacian dulcimers, a hammered dulcimer, a mandolin, more than a dozen mouth organs, 'penny' whistles, bodhran, and an autoharp. Think thats the lot! Definitely a more entertaining place than the TV room.
Nice collection of archtops Jack. I did have a small brick shed which I plastered/painted and decorated with hotrod themed images which was meant to be my dedicated music room, but it soon became subject to storing the kids bikes and camping gear etc. Never mind though, as I've just helped my mate Gary decorate his 'music room' with Hank Williams music sheets and images, so I can escape the family and go there for some time out.
I gotta hotrod Ford and a 2 dollar bill................
