    any shropshire bumpkins here

    thinking of relocating.

need to either retire or expand, but to expensive in the big city.

been looking at shropshire.telford/screwsbury/market drayton sort of area.

figured its still reasonably priced and quite central for a lot of areas .

any areas a big no no

and is there plenty of cars up there that need work doing

My buddy is located in Market Drayton and just builds LS engines for racers and conversions and stays busy all year tim adams race engines are based on the same industrial estate.
If your customer base is facebook then distance might not be too much an issue for some. But be mindful that crewe is not too far away and the old coachbuilders who trained at rolls royce passed their skills on to a lot of local shops and some still survive. For example, there is shop in stoke on trent selling built to order hand crafted cobras in bare aluminium and the work is supposed to be very good.
Shropshire is a gorgeous part of the world though.
Rockabilly will be able to tell you about the rod and custom scene round there.

I dont offer coach building stuff so got no competition in that area.

Do a fair few local cars but do get them in from all over the country, and my clips go out to everywhere.

Just looked quite accessable for lots of areas, from wales to the east midlands, manchester down to Gloucestershire.

Expanding would make it easier to do lots more smaller jobs, that are a pain to get in here. Plus i quite like the idea of a pet donkey, thats def a no go in my back garden

We're looking out for a place in West Wales, and this is also quite high on my list

Before we moved down to Glastonbury 27 years ago we lived in Shrewsbury and Newport for many years and still go back to see family. Still a very nice place to live and would not have a problem moving back. Plenty of open roads still available, I love the drive between Much Wenlock and Craven arms not too busy with passing places and some long sweeping bends.

As you say lots of affordable price property with outbuildings or space to build available.

For me staying away from Telford and its surrounding satellite towns like Wellington Ketley, and Donnington which are just an extension of the centre anyway.

Good travel links etc as long as you do not go too far west.
