    Ausie Roundy Roundy racing

Pretty cool (kind of a cross between NASC and BSCC)

Now that's proper racing in proper cars! With the width of the Bathhurst track it did make me think of what'd happen if you put 1/24 scale slot cars on a 1/32 Scalextric track.

I have been watching this for years," Tillys" Valiant Pacer got me hooked with the -6 in it

After going to the Nurburgring 2 years ago I bought an E46 when I got back and started doing track days and love it.
"Stab and steer" racing gets you 1minute a weekend seat time and costs a fortune, I get 6 hrs a day seat time and get treat with respect by ALL the track officials.
Folk do get to watch a tractor sweep the track for hours at Santa Pod though, I miss that.....not LOL

What actually is the cost? I always saw RWYB drags as affordable but track stuff out of reach, though the latter is way more appealing and I'd love a go

Go on "Javelin Track days" Nige, that's who we go with. It tells you every date at every track and price.
I drove my car to Oulton Park for the day and I think the whole door to door cost was about £180
The track staff actually ENCOURAGE you to get on the track, even the litter pickers have polite manners LOL

....it doesn't stop in the rain either if you have some road tyres, its a good (adrenaline) feeling driving fast in the rain with zero restrictions

    Olly.

Sounds great Olly and I guess the trick is the right affordable RWD car, like a cheapish old BMW or Jap, rather than trying to hurl a 2 ton Yank around (Or spending a fortune to get it to go round corners)

You can go in anything you want mate, held back by only the drivers "ability/scare factor"
We took a Clio cup car when we went to the Ring but it was hard to swallow gettin' " run over" on the fast bits because it would only do 120 on the straights.
The head is just being done for the Skyline so we have 2 faster cars for next year......bit like the drag racing bug,,,,must go faster LOL,
An E46 328/330 is the best bang for the buck, however, the prices are starting to climb because of track days.
Its just too much risk and money (for me anyway) to do a yank for track use unless you're "tilled" up, fkn manual trans/clutch conv eats £5Kplus.
