    Battery Starter Packs (12v)

    What 'Kills' 'em ?

I lent mine out the other day. I know it was working 'coz I had used it that morning & the day before.

It's come back FUBAR. Could that be caused by someone getting the POS & NEGS mixed up ?

The modern small ones dont like being used on a car that doesnt start instantly, ie a modern fuel injected car, if used offten on an old car that takes a bit of cranking or has another fault stopping it starting it kills them, ive killed 2 on old cars and now reverted back to a larger standard style jump pack
Looking for a 50s car, Cadillac, Buick, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Chevy, cash waiting. Message me or call 07836 349356

    Cheers for that, Andy.

This is an old style HD which I bought a couple of years ago (& indeed recommended it on here as I recall) as it fired up SBC's & BBC's.

It just seemed a bit of a coincidence. I've had no trouble whilst I've been using it. Odd that it came back broke...

I had one years ago, had a built in compressor and flashing lights and all that stuff. Think mum got it for me when I went to uni! Lasted for maybe 12 months and then stopped accepting charge. Took it apart and it was basically a little 12volt battery with some short jump leads bolted on. I now keep a set of jump leads and generally have a spare 12 volt with a handle - it's just as convenient.

open it up and take a look inside, repaired a few of them where the cables fix to the battery. the link is thin crap and melts when they get hot. replace it with a proper fitting and away you go.
    worth a look.
