    BBC Ends Formula One Coverage

The way things were going it had to happen at some stage:

BBC to end Formula 1 television contract early - BBC News

Channel 4 becomes terrestrial home of Formula 1 - Channel 4 - Info - Press

Over the last few years the costs seem to have spiraled out of control but with a few notable exceptions the races haven't been that exciting.

If the BBC stopped paying all their so called 'stars' ridiculous amounts of money then they might be able to afford to show some decent programmes - that isn't to say that F1 is necessarly a decent programme . . . .

They got rid of a few earlier in the year:

Jeremy Clarkson dropped from Top Gear, BBC confirms - BBC News

They should get rid of Wimbledon as well because that costs around £40million a year

Perhaps it's time for the government to scrap the license fee so we can just pay for what we want to watch.

Although I rarely watch it now, it's a shame it's going. I used to watchthe rallying until that went too!

I can't agree more! I will happily pay the licence fee to not have adverts. The channels get changed as soon as a advert break comes on and they put me off a product rather than attract me.
If it don't fit, make it adjustable!!!

Yeah, I agree. Its good to have the no-ads option. On the freeview channels, the ad breaks are almost longer than the program segments.

I for one will not miss it, I would not miss Wimbledon either. But I am sure that they will just put other crap on instead.
