Best insurance company for classic american cars?

Hi, i'm 27 with a clean driving licence and i need to find a decent company to insure me and my 1972 Pontiac firebird Formula 350.

I am a pontiac owners club (uk) member and I will be using the car for social, domestic and pleasure as well as the odd bit of commuting, so will probably be looking at a max. of approx. 5000-6000 miles a year.

I live in a rural area and the car will be in a locked garage at night.

Any suggestions welcome as i really want to start ringing around tomorrow.

    Thanks,

    Marc

Try Primetive Zed on here (Cherished Ins) or RH Insurance as a start, both good.
Got 57 with Cherished & Mustang / Caprice with RH.
The doors open, but the ride it aint free.

Right.. well, where to start, I tried Primetive Zed on here (Cherished Ins), but to no avail, great guy but cant get close to another quote i received and the rest go as follows:

Cherished insurance = N/A (Thanks anyway Greg).
Frank Pickles = still waiting for a phonecall with quote (most likely expensive).
    Adrian flux = £460.05
    Peter best insurance = £320
    Footman James = £333.74
Graham sykes = you'll love this one, £752.

I couldn't get through to Classic line insurance today but will try again tomorrow in case they can give me a good quote.

Anyway to the rest, RH insurance have been the cheapest so far with a quote of £263.84.

    Thanks for your time guys.

    Marc

By the way, i was going to get a quote from a company called sureteam direct, american classic car insurance to advertise in the Classic American magazine.... what the problem then i hear you ask? Well, the guy asked me what car i was insuring and as soon as told him it was a 1972 Pontiac firebird formula 350, he stopped me in my tracks and apologised and said that they cannot insure firebirds!?!?!?!?!?!? Apparently there is a list of cars that they cannot insure and this is definately on the list!?

Just had a quote from these guys, not too bad at £295.55, but still not as good as RH insurance.

think you will struggle to beat rh to be honest ,i've found them to be the cheapest and have all the perks on their policys too , breakdown cover being one of them . will happily do agreed value without a huge increase in the policy as well ....
