Many many years ago I purchased a Ginetta G15 around Hanger Lane area. From a Car mechanics school teacher who was replacing it with a Bond Equipe convertible.

so after a spirited drive back to Ilford had a good look at it only to discover that front right double wishbone suspension ( Spitfire / GT6 ) had one wishbone mounting bolt missing out of the four and the other three had no nuts on them !

How about a rear brake line joined with clear fuel line and cable jubilee clips? Wasn't a bodge but part of the original build !!

The probability is that the spirited drive kept the remaining bolts under pressure therefore not allowing them to walk out of the bnushes and allow the wishbone to come adrift

    Scary nonetheless

Years ago one of my Dad's workmates had an early Alfasud that he wanted my Dad to weld up, he looked at it and told him there was nothing left to weld anything to, so he said he could keep it. It sat on the drive for a while until my old man sold it to some dodgy scrap dealer types. when they came to collect it one of the brake pipes burst when they pressed the brake, so they borrowed a pair of mole grips from my Dad, folded the broken pipe over and drove off.
