I bet the local garage had no objections If i remember correctly it only had one pump prob sold more fuel nats weekend than the rest of the year but also used to offer all his workshop i.e. four poster ramp welding equipment etc for any rodders that needed to fix anything up that was broke fair play and a top bloke by all accounts

I thought it got bought up (then) by one of the large car producing companys (Fords) so they could use it to store their news cars on? Could be wrong.

i heard it was complaints by the locals Craig but it may be wrong,i guess NASC committee of the time would know the truth.

Possibly the NASC breathed a sigh of relief, when it could not be held there anymore ,as it was a nightmare to police, and potentially very dangerous,i think it would have been short lived anyway had there been a serious accident there,a certain Porsche driver was very lucky when he explored limits outside the Porche's capabilities .

    Still miss that venue though.

I remember the incident with the Porsche.. Very messy. I suppose there were many potential disasters waiting to happen? I'm certain it was the locals that kicked up and shut it down... Strangely enough took my son there a few years after the Nats moved. An air show called big thunder.. It seems the noise of an effing great Vulcan bomber on full tilt was acceptable but not several looneys with V8 motors.. A golf clap to the residents of Bruntingthorpe..
