I was at both of the Nats that were held there and when I drive around there now it always brings back memories.
The problem as always in these situations is the local residents who bought houses next to an airfield/test track and then complained about noise! It's the same at Mallory Park which has been a motorsport venue since the war is under threat from people who have bought houses near a race track and then complain. These people should be hounded from their houses and be housed on the most desolate part of the country, they would be happy then!!!!!!!

Oh Rog I remember driving said Porsche an hour before the trip into that ploughed field- memories eh?
Yes residents these days are going to close down everything thats louder that the local duck pond - Mallory is certainly on its way - may be the ****s that complain should be relocatred next to Donnington airport !

Yep my memory isn't what it once was but I do remember that the Elvis gig was at Essex County Showground! You must have had some better Tequila than us LOL.
To get back to memories when I'm driving round Bruntingthorpe, what Steve 5-6-7 was alluding to was the bombing raid which ended when we hit a WWII bunker and Ron's head went through the windscreen. It's a long way from the track but my eye always gets drawn to it.

.....But the odd thing is that people who are easily offended by other people enjoying themselves seem to buy houses near to venues where people tend to enjoy themselves.....

evening all .we do a asda fun day every year at bruntingthorp. where asda get the track for free (ive been told )and invite car clubs (about 10 cars from each )along to take people round the track for a donation to asdas chosen charity. they also invite all the locals to come & play .so if youve got a nice fast car & live there you can have a play ...not just cars .you can also drive on the track...jcb 4 track/asda artic with trailer /busses/ plus theres hovercrafts to go on minimotos go karts rally car passenger rides. russ swift stunts .bike stunts ...loads to do & very noisey...theres also a jcb dragster (sbc super charged ?)vulcan bomber ? fly past + yast year two spitfires & p51 mustang fly in .prehaps someone should see if we could take some hot rods this year ....if we dont make any noise?????????????
