My god I’m out of touch with car prices.
    Today I was offered a 100k mile 2004 Bentley Continental 6.0 for…

    …£15,000!
I thought has he gone mad?
    Is it nicked?
    Knackered?
    Bashed up?

    That’s what they sell for.

I was also offered a Rotten 105e for £11k! Why? Harry Potter init! It’s the same colour…

In that vein, anyone want to buy a on owner 45k Miles 2008 1.6 golf? Yours for £28k Why?

There are some crackers out there on ebay. What you ask and what you get are 2 entirely different things and some people just dont get it.
Seen a hillman imp on there for 17k and he has dropped it 8k!!
That might tick someone elses box but i would want a bit more car for 17k.

I followed the alleged motorbike from The 51st State a while back but gave up. Looked lush, much better than in the movie.

Real world car sales have taken a hiding from the ridiculous 'hire it for 5 year at only 10p a month ' deals the main dealers are doing .

Apparently the vast majority of car 'sales' are now got on these PCPs so it must depress the market. It's mad as everybody just talks about their monthly payment like "I can get a Cooper S for only £27 more a month than my Micra". Car parks are full of these late model Mercs and BMWs probably all acquired on this basis. Of course as you rightly point out you don't own the vehicle despite probably fronting up a load of cash. Not sure what becomes of them at the end of the contract.

over here when the lease is up they all go off to the local Mannheim dealer auction , get bought by used car dealers & sold on credit at high rates to the general public , unless of course the person leasing it decides to buy it & use it as a second car .
