    All the platers I know are already doing trivalent chrome only. I'd heard the regs were already in place.
    How trivalent chrome holds up long-term remains to be seen. It looks more yellowy than the hexavalent blue tinge.
    The daft thing is that hard-chromers are allowed to keep on depositing hexavalent chrome as the trivalent isn't up to the job.

    As above per Brizo above Craig , chrome isn't just chrome and it's the decorative stuff being phased out . When I aske my plater what he was going to do last time ( middle of this year , he simply said " lock up and walk away ".
