When I put the Rover engine in the MkII Granada I had it on ramps with the engine running as I kept seeing a puddle underneath and couldn't see what it was. Lay on my back with a fag on and had fluid dropping on my face. Suddenly I realised it was petrol...... Idiot!
If I wasn't meant to go that fast, the pedal would only go half way!

Working under a MG meastro years back on a two post lift before leg locks were invented, the car suddenly moved, i stood back out of surprise, the front right leg of the ramp suddenly slipped out and the car nose dived into the workshop floor, the car was a right off.

ha ha I can relate to that as we often get bullets in the trucks when they arrive and daft **** here puts them in the vice and hits them with a hammer when nobody is expecting it

I was welding up some holes in the dash of my '55 Chevy a few months ago, it's a car that came over from New York many years ago. As I was welding a hole up directly beneath the glove box, I heard an almighty bang, I stumbled out of the car, ears ringing thinking what the [email protected]@k. I couldn't figure out what it was, so went searching, guess what I found, yep you guessed it, a bullet casing and the bullet!!!
It must have fallen out of the glove box and been sitting on the channel that gives the dash strength, and I was welding directly beneath it. I can only assume it had been there since its days in New York.

When i was a kid my best mates dad was in the building trade and he had hilti gun for fixing battons in to steel or concrete my mate thought it would be a good idea to hit a hilti cartridge with his dads hammer, result dads hammer had explosive soot marks on it ........ my mate had 2 black eyes were the force of the explosion sent the hammer back and smacked him straight on top of his beak between his eyes, funny as fook made me smile after all those years typing this.
