    Crazy prices

That some people spend on parts.

Just saw a post of FB where someone posted up a pic of the front end for there truck.

Had a look where it came from and there around 8 grand for a front end.

It's nice but not 8k nice.

Do you think some people just buy for the kudos of having all the right parts, even if they do the same as something half its price.

Never really look to much at prices of certain parts, but shocked at how much certain things are,or more at what people will pay for them

Within reason, the old adage that you get what you pay for is true, look at the cheap **** coming out of China, but that only goes up to a point. In my opinion, theres no difference between a certain well known fabricators part and another not so well known fabricators part. as long as they're similar in build. This has bitten me in the arse though when asking a certain person to do work that was going to be 3 weeks and £1700 and ended up being 3 months and £3500 and then I had to remake it myself because it was crap.
If it's got tits or tyres, its gonna be trouble

I used to get a bigger kick from making something similar but with a twist for much less money . It's the only way I've ever afforded to be in this hobby .

I still do it the way we used to before there was an aftermarket for parts.

And probably the same people who brag at how cheap they bought their property for and how much it is (suddenly) now worth.
Similarly to Kapri, I too enjoy making my parts my way, but if time does not allow I want value for money (being a tight Northener) if I sub-out, and I expect it to be no worse than I can make it.

To be fair I think sometimes you do need buy aftermarket stuff like clips.

Not saying you have to but it takes a lot of hassle out the build.if I could be arsed I could make stuff like that axles and radiators, bit not worth the time involved.

Given how long it took me to do the maths, fabricate the bits and build the front end on my MG I wish I’d just had you fit one of yours! Definitely easier to buy ready made just do your homework diligently before you do!
