Hi Trev, I was well chuffed with the shift pattern you milled for me. Was unsure if the shifter I was making would work as it was quite firm to use. It's still in the car after I sold it and doing 8.35 @ 160mph and the boys that own the car now love it.

For those that know me i make pretty much make and fabricate everthing myself where possible,
For the odd jobs that i cant do i have a small trusted group of professionals that i turn to and no others,

    Parts that dont fit!
On my my old tubbed anglia van the only two aftermarket 'kit' items that i bought was a cogged drive belt pully system,
2 of the 3 pullys needed to go on the lathe to fit,
The other was a 2" tube weld on threaded kit for the front struts, since when has 2" been 50mm,
    Another one to machine aaargh!
I'll stick with making my own **** thanks, far happier with making it myself.

Thought so, it stopped at my house on the way home from you for me to look over, my friends picked it up for D, I'm not "into" how it looks either, the badass "Industrial strength" Cobra he had the long block in before, was just fkn glorious, I made the adjustments to the Cobra that put it finally into the 9's n/a.

.... altered.....needs a 6:2:1 exhaust on it IMO to bring back that awesome sound the Cobra had LOL
Hope to see it back at York once our new track opens again

Was just chatting to someone.said he didn't ask me to do work for him as he thought I was to expensive .

He based this on seeing my pictures online.

So instead of asking my rate he went elsewhere and payed £25 per hour more.

I may change what I charge to what customers think they should pay

There seems to be two completely different types (same in the boat world) some presume that just because it's their hobby that you are doing it for fun as well. The others (the ones I like dealing with) like to pay top whack because it gives them bragging rights!

I always remember the thing that was said about the boat world (and could equally apply to the hobby of flying light aircraft). How do you make a small fortune if you're into boats? Start off with a large one!

Yeah that's right (and of course it doesn't apply to hotrods or classic cars at all)....

that's the issue I find, many car people assume I can do things cheap as im into cars, they don't seem to see I need to earn a living and cover overheads, its amazing how much people don't think about things like cutting tools, cutting fluid, machine maintenance etc etc, all things that are important but not seen.
