    Dvla

    Hi,

Sent off my reg doc 4 weeks ago to update engine details, included receipt and letter to confirm engine change inc engine number and cc etc.
Getting a little worried they have lost the paperwork, how long have you guys and gals had to wait for a reg doc?

Or does this mean i gonna be sent for the dreaded SVA, BIVA or whatever the hell they call it these days..... hope not !

    Thanks

    Steve

    Re: Dvla

I received my V5 back in the post today after only sending it early last week. I needed them to the spelling of my name, and change the colour from orange to white. They got my name right this time, but the colour still says orange.

It's normally 6 weeks quoted. Ring them to check, usually arrives a couple of days later for some reason.

Just as an aside, it always pays to photocopy everything before sending it to DVLA. It's not unheard of for them to change licence entitlements or vehicle particulars in error, and then you need some sort of proof of what the original said.

Good advise Shedster, that goes for any important documentation you send through the post.
