eBay should police their own site (which they could easily do if they put the resources into it) but choose not to. I for one am no longer prepared to do it for them for free. They have had months to sort this problem once and for all themselves.

Yes, they should sort it themselves, but yes, I do use their report item when I see these scams.
Had just list my 1948 Desoto P15 on Ebay the other day when a load of scam stuff went on. It must put off genuine possible buyers when they see all these fake adverts.

Well done for reporting it, I know it should be down to eBay to police it and they must be aware of it. Any reasonable cmpany would have allocated someone to keep an eye on it and take the posts down straight away....
It does make it hard and anoying to look at the car section (you don't seem to see it in other areas of eBay)

    i like ebay.
i have made a lot of money selling there.
i have bought a lot of parts that are no longer available for many classic cars.
i have a friend who works with ebay in the e-commerce business.
id like to ask just how you guys think ebay could police the fraudsters better?
consider that there is literally a million or more listings per day worldwide.
im sure ebay would love to hear how to police things better.

They have software that they use for targeted ads and also recommending average prices. Their software also spots keywords etc in the listings and removes the listing. They should use this to help buyers more. They are quick enough to send invoices etc so they should use the extensive software capabilty to spot what normally is too good to be true with bad spelling/grammar and the usual GB/UK address.
A restored 67 corvair on the other day for 3400 buy it now.
    Really!!!

Well for one there are at least two gangs of knobs butting loads of classic cars on eBay which stand out a mile and put off loads of genuine clients. Loads of complaints have been made so they must know about it.
All they have to do is log on every day and have a look (same as several thousand car enthusiasts do every day)
