Whoops! sorry Deb! Yes I know York is along way north for you guys, But it would be great to see you up for one of our 2-day meets, theres plenty to see & do up't north & you would be made very welcome. Keep your eye on the calender & maybe plan a trip?
Jeff, depending on what your rail ran you could run in either Sportsman (upto 12.00) or Pro (11.99-9.99) As I mentioned in my last post its possible to run in 2 classes for the same entry fee, however a dragster is a bit limited in that it won't 'fit' into more than 1 class, (in than its not an american doorslammer, or street legal, or a VW!) BUT, we did have 1 racer this year that raced in both sportsman & pro with some success, ( he dialled in at 12.00 for sportsman & 11.99 for Pro) so it is possible to get your moneys worth! ( Hey we're Yorkshiremen after all!)
So anybody that would like to go budget bracket racing then take a look at York. you should find a class that fits your car & your budget.

Jeff, there's still cheap racing about

I found a VW Variant for my sis at the start of the year. She bought it for £500 and joined the VWDRC. Last weekend she won the championship in her rookie year

Nice 'n consistent albeit at 24 seconds
    Meep Meep.

At this time of year, end of season, there are lots of bargains to be had in race cars. See the ads on Eurodragster, you couldn't build them for the money.
