some nice rods love the A.
I thought the event was great - it was very much to be expected that there would be a fair few modern motors there but if it had just been left to the rodders the entry fees would have had to have been about £600 a head to cover the cost of staging the event! If everybody spreads the good word then hopefully this will just grow and grow and we can get it established. Getting any kind of event like this is damned hard work, and I for one would like to say thanks to Craig Dixon and also the lads and lasses of the Straightliners who made it possible.
I wasn't too keen on the half mile walk from where you had to park though ,i can live with that though as kirkbride is only 10 miles from my front door
I dont post much but Just like to add my thanks to Craig and the straightliners for a great weekend.
I agree with gasket in that it takes a lot of hard work to get an event established. You can only hope that everyone thats says is coming does turn up, been in that situation.
Its the people that do turn up that make the weekend and i had a great night on the saturday as well.
If you dont support it you will loose it then you will have nothing to moan about.
I'm just sick of hours and hours and hours on the m6 to the pod or A1 to york crail is pants so kirkbride is a godsend (looks a bit bumpy at the top end though)
For me as to do a weekend away i have to take friday ,saturday and sunday off as i work weekends so save at least a days holiday by doing kirkbride and if it all goes tits up i'm close enough to go and get spares
Even got my pop fixed today so ready to chuck a sicky for the next one at kirkbride
theres a slight undulation at the top end lol feels like your off loading a bit but if you keep your foot in its ok and plenty of shutdown track
It looks bloody awful from the start line but shouldn't worry my 2.8 granada engined pop be lucky if i'm doing 85 at the top end of the strip
