Tesla on a weight reduction programme in 3....2....1...LOL
Seriously though I do think that electric bikes and mopeds do make sense, they can be easily and cheaply charged up. Also they mostly used in towns and that's where the air pollouting issues are.
I hope Dyson start to make electric cars i know they suck but at least you can have a V8 or a V10 in it, and it could clean the streets as you drive about also you could always
get Goblin works to tune it ?
Dont worry about charge points. you wont need one. You wont be eligible for a personal vehicle . As things "progress" you will need to qualify, that will most likely mean you wont be able to afford a vehicle or the costs associated with ownership. You might be able to HIRE one though. In which case you will head to the nearest hire station of which there will be many, you will advise regarding the nature of the journey, be provided with a suitable vehicle pay your hire fee, and connect your combined drivers licence ID credit card ( you know that device you all cary called an I phone ) to the car and off you go, tracked all the way and charged for miles , parking, tolls and city driving, speeding, and recharging automatically.. Then you return the car to base ..
Personal electric vehicle ownership will not continue to be the implied free ride it is now . When they are more popular than they are now , and given that every new home is on a smart meter , charging will be costed at a specific TARRIF .. so you will pay the equivelent fee per KWh to charge your vehicle as it would cost to cover the same miles in a petrol engined car .. Viz. the average luxuary car might achieve 20mpg so a 200mile range would require 10 gallons of fuel at £6 per gallon ( current rate) so your charge to go 200 miles in the electric will cost you exactly the same and dumped on your electricity bill as vehicle charging tarrif .. Simple .. thats where the lost revenue will come from..
Nothings for free, create a market, suck people in then when you have them suckered add the fees .. The infrastructure for that is already in place with smart meters and 5G its just not fully functional yet . Outwith charging is easy, just insert your credit card into the previously free charging docks and wait, you will be charged per KWh at a premium rate .. and like fuel stations now some will be slightly cheaper than others with the fast charge being most expensive ....
