    HT leads

Hi all, quick question. V8ís are new to me. Iíve just received a set of HT leads for a small block. 6 of the leads have 90 degree boots and two have straight boots. Is that right and why ?
    Thanks

Two straight ones go in front of the exhaust manifold drop pipe so they cant "swing" onto hot cast iron (dist at back of engine).....if you have headers good luck, just put them where they fit best LOL.
I've just done a set on a 305, factory lead set.

Thanks for the reply. I do have headers and the engine is open and on show. I’m after a set of leads with 90 degree boots both ends. All I can find is the set with two straight boots and Ford sets but don’t know if they will fit.
    Thanks again

I've used MSD leads in the past where you cut them to the length you need. Despite 95% of MSD being red, you can get them in black if red isn't your thing.

There's also quite likely to be more affordable brands to MSD.

Note - These can be fiddly and you'll need lube

A tip is to run them under the headers rather than how most do it (they run them between the header & up to the rocker covers).

This looks tidier, but also its cooler below the headers (as long as they are not block huggers).

MSD spiral bound 8.5mm leads, not the cheapest but very good. All have 90 degree boots both ends. Heat resistant too. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/msd-35599

The way the GBP is at the moment buying from the US is a no go. The kit on eBay in the U.K. is £140

$153 delivered to your door from Summit, which is £116 inc taxes & postage. Takes about 5 days.
