I've just bought a factory hotrod!!!!

Holy speeding hot rod, just got myself a TVR cerbera 4.5 V8 road eating monster. Its just like a home built rod. It rattles, nothing really fits, the wipers lift at 100+, shakes, smells of oil, the faster you go the louder the stereo goes, people do look (Blackpool plastic), the exhaust pops and bangs on the over run. It is fun. Quite how fast I don't know as yet. But I have been told its a low twelve as standard!
Got to say though, its practical, went out to Stourbridge 4 up no problem. Although the children are only 8 & 9 at the moment.
Any body out there with one?

My friend Young Jofferson had one. It done more miles on my trailer after breaking down than it did running under its own steam. He only had it a few months as he daren't go anywhere in it.
If it's got tits or tyres, its gonna be trouble

    Hi All,

My neighbour had a couple, had the griffith 500 first then he had the speed six.

The speed six was mental, very very fast but, very very unreliable as well.

As wakesupremo says, my neighbour only ever took it out if he was going out to have a blast and for fun, he said it was pointless taking it out on a specific journey and you needed to get where you were going as more often than not you would be waiting for the recovery truck.

Needless to say he doesn't own a TVR anymore.

My experience of supercars, which is fairly limited i must admit, if you want one that does most things competantly and is reliable it has to be a Porsche 911 or come from the 911 family.

    Cheers.

    Russ.

My mate has three TVR'S CERBERA 1 SPEED SIX, which we have a race bet on when the Fordson is finished for a best of three at Santa Pod, (low 12's didnt realise they were that quick) maybe he wont make the pod break on the way, or will not be able to complete three races

    Hi Fordson,

You want to hope he doesn'nt alter his gearing as well before you race.

Those speed six's definately arn't geared for the 1/4 mile with a top end circa 190 MPH with the right gearing that would be in the low 11's maybe even just be able to break into the very high 10's if he can get it to hook up off the line, although in all honesty it will probably just break end of.

Good luck with your best of three.

On the plus side you could always go a little slower with your build, i am sure you can make your progress on your Fordson outlast the speed six mechanicals.

    Cheers.

    Russ.
