From my experience in the motor trade, I’ve never had a problem with either......but if I were buying for my wife, it would be Aygo every time.
In fact she used to have one and loved it.

Thanks everyone, we are going to look at the Kia today and take it from there.

    Cheers, Paul.

A very belated thread update from me.

We did trade in my wife's old Micra...

For a second hand Kia Picanto.

So far, <Touch Wood> it does exactly what she needs it to do without any fuss.

Although in line with the "Modern cars do nothing for me" thread, it really is a modern/anonymous car.

Thanks again to everyone who provided advice.

    Cheers, Paul.

Just seen this thread.both seem reliable, economical cars for around town and small journeys, not ideal for long motorway drives really.picantas we have replaced 2 gearboxes the last year, both around the 50-60000 miles mark, seem to have common problem eating up rear abs sensors/hubs too.but we do far more clutches, water pumps at very low mileages on 107,Aygo and c1's,but there are more on the road.i think it don't matter what you it is how it has been drove and looked after but keep that oil regularly changed as they do rattle s bit if not.enjoy!
