    Pallet delivery

I need to organise an axle to be collected and delivered to me.

How do you go about organising as all the online quotes ive done are only done by 1/4, 1/2 and full pallet. Obviously an axle is longer than a pallet and i cant seem to get a quote.
There was one company where you put the size in and it came back at over £150, cant be that much surely?

    Any companies recommended please?

I got an axle wrapped up and got one delivered via interlink for £25 it was near john o groats and I'm near landsend....didn't tell them it was an 8inch rear axle and told them it was 25 kilos, got it next day with no problems funny thing was he wrapped it in clingfilm so you could clearly see it was an axle.never had any comeback, so happy days

I've put axles on pallets before. Put it on diagonally corner to corner

1/4 pallet is up to 800mm high (inc pallet)
1/2 pallet is 1200 high (inc pallet), so put axle on diagonally and pack one end up to keep it within the 1200 x 1000mm pallet size.

The £150 was probably for two pallets, which is what they will charge for if it does over hang; as above you can block it up at one end to narrow the load. There is also Silverline who run vans and don't use pallets, also Fox express transport (who do the same) was quite reasonable.
Just a passer by as you might say.

ask the seller if they would be so kind to remove the brakes and wrap them with it,should make it a bit more narrow

Thanks for the ideas, much appreciated.
