Thanks to Paul L for giving me the link to this thread which i had missed.
When I read the first post I thought "there must be another one looks like mine", but of course its me in the you tube videos.

I totally agree that life and safety come first, and that dangerous driving in a vehicle associated with "our" sort of cars can only cast us all in a bad light.

I thought there must be some extreme life threatening situation that I had caused and forgotten about, but its just me doing a wheelspin outside my garage! I dont drive like that often, but I'm pretty sure most of us do on the odd occasion. Sorry if I have caused offence, I will immediately return the vehicle to a wheezy old diesel and drive slowly to annoy everyone!

Talk about a big fuss about nothing!

Thanks for all the supportive comments.

    Ian

and i don't understand why this topic has appeared in a 4-5 year old thread elsewhere??????

You hit the nail on the head!

I've watched the video ,IMO it is NOT a burnout but a chirping and smoking of tyres as the torque overwhelms the grip WITHOUT the aid of locked front brakes and whilst still having instant use of normal braking as required.

Correct Kev, no line lock fitted then, maybe in future, maybe not

Just watched it - not the best idea with the van in front of him, but as already stated - it's the first time out for a fresh build, everyone is entitled to a little exuberance on the maiden voyage.

Hardly in the same league as people doing 100 yard burnout outside the Ace with a 1000 strong crowd around them.

Well i think Ian is a very irresponsible dangerous driver.
IF..............the van backed up he could't have dented the bumper.........
IF..............there was a bus driving on the wrong side of the road he could't have a crash
If...............32 little kids had been playing between him and the van he had squashed them
    IF...............IF...................IF.......... ....
Shame on you Ian,you desrve to be locked up and the pickup will be ritually burnt
p.s. agree with Mark,O.P.needs to get a life
