Valley Gas Speed Shop. Recommendations Please.

Thinking about restoring a muscle car at the above shop, does anyone have any feedback on them please? It would be nice to hear from anyone who's had work undertaken there and if they thought it was value for money and of a good quality. Many thanks. Feel free to PM if you wish. John

Had a MKI Z here that had a V8 drive train and struts done by them, delivered to the owner as "done" for £17,000. it was was undrivable took a while too sort out, most of the work done was good, but the rest was crap and unsafe imho......................... Ps, You should talk to the man that would be working on your car not the man that pays the man that works on your car.

only tried talking to the owner jimmy once quite a few yrs ago at shaky hot rod drags did,nt really want to know , but he's been around a long time now so must be doing something right , you could give Pete or joan darwell at mech sprays down in Rochester Kent a call , they've been turning out concours restorations for donkeys years & been in the same building since the sixties 01634 847940

Thats why its prob best to shop around and get a few quotes.big variation on shop rates, and could easily double a restoration bill, for the same standard of work.

17k. I need to up my rate by about a 1000%

Me personally,I have always got on with the owner of valley gas for thirty years plus, very helpful, professional and polite, dealt with him in work and outside work,he has been into hot rodding ,drag racing and other motorsports more years than me and as said on here before he must be doing something right!they are a great bunch of lads and lasses that work there too.seems every magazine I read has some vehicle featured that has been built there or had work done by them.there is always going to be some negative comments about something,it happens in all trades and businesses.also as wayne and jimmy have commented there are big differences in prices, things like workmanship, finish, overheads, quality of parts used, staff, time of build and plenty more you have to take into account.
Is the mark one in the previous comment a certain red one?

More local, have you tried Phil Perry at hot rod and classic engineering near Maidstone? He turns out very nice work.
