    Warning!

    Recieved an e-mail today.
Someone is sending out a Budwieser Frogs screensaver.
    DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT!
It will apparently crash your hard drive and steal your personal details.
Detail were released Tuesday by Microsoft.
    Cheers,
    Mark
Appologies, just been made aware that this is a hoax that's been around a while.I'm relatively new to computers,so hadn't heard of it.

    The Budweiser Frog ?
It must be an old skool virus for the retro crowd, I think that screensaver came out in the '90s.

    Hoax i'm afraid

    http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/budfrogs.asp

However, with common sense in mind it's advisable not to download anything that someone links to unless you've asked for it specifically, you're aware what it is or if you've got the technical ability to get rid of it yourself afterwards should things go tits up.

Same with attachments on emails and stuff.

Genuine companies don't ask for your details. If someone does it's fake. If they're genuine and they REALLY need your details they're not gonna do it via email.

Someone you don't know that is sending you attachments isn't doing so because of the kindness in their heart. Delete it.

That doesn't mean that someone you DO know is automatically safe. If it's not in their usual style or if it's not something you've already asked for then chances are they might not be as diligent as you so it could be something they've accepted which is now spamming from their machine.

And while were on the subject ... FFS

Do you REALLY think that the email will know you've sent it on to 40 people and it'll then activate a program to interface to god** (or whoever you believe in) who will then in turn grant your wishes

** For the atheists among us. You don't believe in anything anyway so WTF do you think is gonna invent "miracles" and then allow them to happen anyway

    Sermon over lol
    Meep Meep.
