It'll be interesting. Mind you, the process will take over two years according to Article 50.
Yes , get in there .....
I didn't manage to go to bed until half-three last night, once I was confident that we probably would be heading out. It was exciting stuff.
Good. Now it will be interesting to see what all the other member states do
It seems that now, the remain looser's are now calling any one that voted to leave, racist, phobic and god know what else. Well funny enough I don't feel any of that for wanting do do something to stand up for our children's future. I don't want a future for my grandchildren, where there's no room for them at school, you cant get to see a doctor for weeks and hospitals struggling under the weight, and they will NEVER ever be able to buy a home or even afford to rent a property. I would also like to keep this green and pleasant land and we have , and not have every inch of it turned over to housing for every Tom, Dick and harry who wants to come here.
well.. this is what a democracy is.
let's see how it goes.
But.. so far, overnight, the cost of running the company where I work has gone up 10%. Why? because all equipment is bought from the EU as it's not produced here. this will more than likely be a cost passed on to the end consumer.
It will be alright as long as everyone buys British though... all your rod parts, etc, etc.. will stay the same price. oh wait, no it wont :D :D
Hasnt Nigel Farage already backed down on the biggest advert he had on the side of the BUS saying all the money would go to the NHS?
thisis going to be sooooo messy.
But, it's a democracy so I embrace change and I hope everything will go well.
Already feel sorry for everyone that own a house, thank god I haven't bought one yet! :D
why feel sorry for anyone who has bought a house? Anyone can look at a house and see the price they are being sold for is NOT realistic! The crazy increase in house prices could not and should not go on for ever. It don't effect house owners, it don''t matter to a home owner what there house is worth, that is only relevant if they move, if the value of the house they own goes up or down so does the value of the house they buy...the ones it has slaughtered is the first time buyers who can't afford a bloody shed !
How do you know that the cost of running the company where you work has gone up by 10%, nothing has been decided yet, this was one of the things that the Remain camp were predicting but it hasn't happened yet.
Things will invariably change but the world hasn't just ended.
Because the pound has already dropped against the euro and other currencies and will keep dropping.
so if yesterday we bought telecomms equipment at a certain exchange rate, due to the drop, today is more expensive. bear in mind radio equipment (stuff I design day to day) cost in the excess of 50k.... a complicated design, can cost in excess of 500k.... its a big difference in the overall cost.
Another example... that dude who gets parts from summit racing and LMC truck and ships over from the US, who does the dollar for pound thing? (if it shows 20 dollars on the catalogue, it's 20 quid) that's going to stop as well.
small examples of how things will dramatically change.
Why is everything about the EU deemed to be about money?? If it was the 'Common Market' as when it started fair enough.
I am not selfish enough to have voted out because my house may loose value or a contract will loose profit.
My reason is because of the political superstate, law changes, etc.
I dont understand the house market bit, was just the guys here at work saying, 2 of them really pissed off because they just only bought a house last week.
Heres a good idea, lets talk ourselves into a recession.
Providing you can keep paying the mortage it really doesnt matter as at the end of it all, youve got a house worth something, rent is lining the pockets of landlord tossers.
We've just fucked our economy good and proper - there's no winners here. When your friends and family start losing their jobs as a result, on your heads be it.
The market crash is bigger than 2008, this isn't speculation or scaremongering now, it's real.
Shares and pound plunge on Leave vote - BBC News
We are a UK manufacturer, our costs have just skyrocketed as we have to import materials and equipment to integrate into our products, enough to wipe out profit margins on many of our products.
The market won't accept price rises as a result, so what are we to do?
how do you put a video on here? just seen the one where Nigel Farage says promising to use the 350 million on the NHS 'was a mistake' and he cant guarantee that..well, well.. that was quick!
with all the costs rising up, company profits going down... they will have to start laying people off.
I would have rather not being able to own a mansion but keep everyone happy and not in all this economic chaos that will happen.
what's going to happen now is the rich with good jobs will get richer and the poor will get poorer.
it doesnt really make a difference to me because I have a specialized job. Never bought a house because never really cared about it and I like to move quickly if I get fed up with the area. I live on my own, pay 1200 a month in rent (which I could have been paying in a mortgage), but now it might be the opportunity to buy a house once and if the market crashes.
Thank fuck I bought my dollars for my holiday yesterday!!
1200 rent...you are being fucked over.
Look guys, I'm not against it or anything and dont want a huge argument out of it.
I'm just saying what I'm seeing here at work.
and I understand things can get better, but I think they will get a lot worse before it gets better.
You say build in Britain... some stuff can't be done here. there isnt the know-how how to do it, no R&D on it etc...
certain countries have been specialists in certain things, that's what makes a country unique... Britain can't possible build everything required.
I wish it would be possible, but I know it isnt.
A GREAT DAY FOR BRITAIN,
and for those that wanted to vote leave but bottled it!!!! Fucking GROW a pair FFS.
I think we used to be able to make almost everything, why not again?
All I can think of now is I should have bought that air ride suspension and disc brake conversion kit last week! :D
I'd like to see proper British made spanners and pliers and vice grips again, instead of that shite we keep importing from China etc
and what a relief no more french cars!!!!!!!!!!!
and it's not something Britain can just catch up
unfortunately that's the reality.
this is only a little example
we dont live back 40 years ago.
technology has advanced and people live on it.
I see Norway and Switzerland are really having a hard time..............
Again guys, I'm not against it or trying to be an a$$hole about it.
I'm just showing my views from where I'm sitting in a technbology perspective.
of course I would like everything to be made in Britain, jobs for everyone, economy grows, etc, etc.... but I dont think its possible. certainly not possible on some things.
the prices we get are in Euros for some reason, I dont know why.
but I think the comment/question was in relation to the pound crashing. if we get stuff from other coutnries, that stuff is going to be more expensive now.
and then that led to the discussion about not being able to produce it here, which then lead to the telecoms market leaders, which one is from China.
