A while back I had a short on the Cresta wiring and some of the loom went up in smoke. Luckily I was able to disconnect the battery and took out part of the faulty wire. Have now stripped back some of the loom and checked for damage. The system has four 36 amp fuses which is more than likely why it burnt rather than blow a fuse. So now am putting new fuse boxes with suitable fuses for each circuit.

Very sensible! For some reason they used to have everything running through very few fuses on old cars. My Riley only has two high amperage fuses; and old motorcycles like my Triumph, only one 35 amp one.

Mk3 Z cars don't have any fuses at all (no wonder that there are so few left)

Anyway today Mrs Joe has had me building a planter for some sunflowers that she is growing. I couldn't be bothered to measure it and mark it up properly so I just built it by eye ( and it shows)

Yeah but this one (made out of leftover decking) is too rustic and doesn't match the front of the house so it's got to go in the back garden. I now have to make a new one (white painted and made of tongue and groove or ship lap) to go out the front with the sunflowers in....

I finished polishing the wheels. Rears this time, epic job getting the things off.

Yes, I must confess, I found tyre dressing stuff, it was that old plastic bottle cracked in half when I shook it so lashed it on.
