whats wrong with my car! and why wont it sell?

just a general question here. been trying to sell my 27t for a few months now (think its about 7 months. but who's counting) with no interest as yet!
is it the style thats wrong? or the price! i did say the first thing i was going to do when i bought it was to loose the flames, but to be honest they grew on me and i dont think i would change a thing if i have to keep it. everyone i speak to at shows and club meets likes it. (well thats what they tell me) but yet no one is making any offers or ringing me up to look at it with a view to buy. hell if its the price... im not even getting any offers!! i know its not everyones thing and the thought of open top motoring does'nt appeal to everyone but thought someone might fancy it!
im not wishing i had'nt bought it as im loving driving it, and dont even mind getting wet from time to time hell thats part of the fun! just wonderd what ppl's thoughts are as to why no one wants to take it off my hands so i can move on to some thing else!

ps this is'nt a whinge just wondering whats wrong with the car in other ppl's eyes

just thought id add a picture in case you not sure what the car looks like

    Ian,
Our son Paul is in the same boat. You know his M2 Farnham!. it has been on the market about the same time as yours, or maybe longer!. I don't think there is anything wrong with either vehicle, but, the market!! Maybe, just maybe, the lower end of the market ie. cheaper cars are bought by guys just starting or don't have a load of cash, so, in the current climate (so called credit crunch) there isn't that much money around. On the oher hand, at the top end, people are a bit more comfortable, so, therefore can buy something a bit more expensive, without having to worry too much!!
    Just my 2bob's worth!!

    Charlie!!
ps Don't feel so alone! It happens to all of us! I'm next!!
You gotta grow old , but, you don't gotta grow up!!

Well in my opinion, your car is reasonably priced and a pretty practical rod, I think most specialist cars are having a tough time at the moment unless they are what the investors would call numbers matching blue chip cars.

My question would be are you advertising it outside of the usual rodding fraternity where most of us have cars and projects on the go because to be able to jump in your car, drive it around getting 30 to the gallon and insuring it pretty cheaply has got to be a golden opportunity for someone who want's to get into the scene with spending five years in a cold garage building one!

personally I'd lose the flames, paint it gloss black and run steels with wide whites.

personally i would loose the flames, flying eyeball and the pinstriping on the back, not keen on the strap across the bonnet either - i like the wires though. its not a lot of money but folks seem fickle about what they spend theyre money on - maybe its too cheap and people have the perception it isnt up to it.

I think it might be because you're looking at selling a very niche vehicle into an already niche market - the number of people who might buy it are only a small percentage of the people who admire it, which again is only a percentage of the people who are into rods in the first place. I'd have the same problem if I came to sell the Shedster I suspect... But as a 'first rod' (or even a 'second rod' for sunny days) it's a damn good car at a fair price - I reckon sooner or later someone will want to own it.

thanks ppl i see what some have said that they may like it better with diffrant wheels, gloss paint,no flames...etc but me doing that now would only please some and may still not help it sell any better. if it only needs small changes to suit a buyer then the new owner could do it to suit his/her taste. no new car you buy that someone else built is ever 100% how you would have done it if you were to build it! but that would not put you off a car completely if it was in the right price bracket... would it?
