mk1/2 escort axle is only slightly wider than an anglia one. this can be more than compensated for with different wheel offset.
or there's suzuki jeep would be worth measuring, bound to be some on ebay and you could ask the seller to measure the overall width maybe.
    neil.

As Neil says Suzuki jeeps are narrow and on the same PCD as model As, but sj’s have an off set diff, so have a look at the carry van axle or even a rascal one.
    They are super narrow

as it happens anglia ones are more expensive as the escort boys want them to fit bigger wheels to their escorts. and 100e owners want them too etc etc. they're the narrowest factory 'english' ford axle so in demand.
if you want really narrow cut the long side of a suzuki axle down to centre the diff and fit 2 short side halfshafts.

Isn't ratio going to need to be considered if it's only using 100E to pull it around ? What size wheels and tyres as well?

I think the Suzuki Vitara axle is not offset and also uses coil spring mounts if required

with the choices i suggested kev he should be ok. english ratios are available into the high 4's from memory and suzuki jeeps have a tall wheel/tyre so the ratios ought to be fairly low (high numerically) too.
