It had warning stickers! But apparently because there were 5 other stickers on the door, the ‘don’t stick your head out’ sticker wasn’t visible enough.

I thought fair enough, accident waiting to happen etc, especially as you have to put your arm out to open the door when the train pulls into the station...but nope, this train was doing 61mph at the time!!

Real health and safety would forbid structures being too close to train on a track.

I understand, just like clearing snow from ya path you become liable as it is not as nature intended and is in a condition you created so when postie breaks their wrists in a slip and fall you may as well as have pushed em.
A warning sticker, albeit obscured means it's their fault.

    Yep, madness.

Bit like that cyclist who was done recently when he ran over the woman that stepped off the kerb looking at her phone. There's the view of the Law (that dances on the head of a pin), and there's the common sense view of the general public which would be completely different. Years ago, putting your head out of a train window, and getting it knocked off, would be just misadventure and not even reported.

As cougarV8 said, who gets the fine money? Like the huge fine BA got the other day for that data breach.
