    York Drags today

Some nice stuff there today with quite a good turnout. The weather was off and on a bit with a couple of light showers dampening the track but nothing too bad. A fuel leak stopped the Jet Car running for a while but they managed to get it fixed later in the afternoon. It was good to see Shogun out again and especially Gonzo. The red Pop gasser looked a proper handfull, snaking halfway up the track! The Yenko Chevelle was balistic as was the Jenson.
    Anyway, pictures... (Clicky)

    Many more pics here

Just been on the JMA website http://www.jmacarconversions.co.uk/frameset2.html and looks like it could be Hyabusa powered.

    No it isn't.
Puddle Jumper was the street legal Pop, originally with a Big Block Ford, later rebuilt with a Jag V12 and rumoured to still be languishing somewhere.
This Pop was Cliff Puddle's old metalflake red racer from about 1975, which also ran a Big Block Ford and had a drilled Pop I beam axle. When Custom Car featured it, the article was entitled 'Puddle's Jumper', hence the frequent confusion. They were two separate cars

Correct! Conrad Stanley had it after Cliff, Painted Black, Then it was rebuilt into the Gasser (can't remember the guys name!) & now owned by Spencer Tidswell, Who some of you will know the name,
Spencer had bad luck at his first meeting with the car last year as on his way back from the scrutineers the motor spat a rod out of the block!
He had problems this meeting too as the distributor drive sheared, Giving my lad in the Pink ex-Fatal Attraction Super/Gas Pop A bye into the final of Pro ET to face Pel Normans Shogun Capri.
Ben unfortunatly pulled a Redlight to hand the win to Pel, But we are happy with the car, Ran 10.94 on the chip at 1000ft (he's still learning!) so theres more to come!
Great pics everyone! But man it was COLD!
    I've been next in line,
    I've been next to nothing,
I've been next to bye standers, That shoulda said something.................
