Your thoughts ? Brand X advertised vs Brand Y supplied ...

Not worth putting this in 'Rants' ... but I would like to hear your thoughts / opinions.

Needed some Bushes last week, in a hurry so we could use the car at the weekend...

Ordered from a (reasonably well known) Supplier - the Brand recommended : 'Moog'
as advertised on their Website. What arrived were a (cheaper) product, 'Quick Steer'
    (made in Turkey).

As it happens, I was also offered some quality 'Poly' bushes - which I ended up buying.

So - I still have these cheaper ones. I was charged £6.95 for overnight Carrier service,
for parts which cost under £9. Hardly worth returning them by the time post is paid...

I've not named the Supplier - but I wonder how often this happens / what You think ?
ENJOY YOURSELF - IT'S LATER THAN YOU THINK !

I've noticed a lot of suppliers use the moog brand name and part no. to identify suspension parts but like you have experienced don't supply a part made by moog themselves. No idea why this is a Maybe moog is a major supplier in the USA and is used as a reference?

I'd be complaining if I ordered Moog and got something else, although the other brand isn't necessarily cheaper (unless they charged you less) or lower quality. I recently bought a few brake and other parts for my Ranchero from Rockauto - drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, seals, fuel filler cap, stainless wiper blades, etc. - and chose the better quality, pricier, branded parts for each one: every item was made in China except the Stant filler cap (Mexico) and Dorman wheel cylinder seals (Italy). This was Bendix, Dorman, Raybestos stuff.

It's a bit like ordering Heinz baked beans, paying Heinz prices and getting Tesco Value beans delivered. There are some shocking quality suspension bushes out there, personally I'd ask for a refund.

Bit leftfield but when I purchased the traditional BFGoodrich 15x10 tyres from N Hants Tyres I rang em after I googled what was burned in to side wall 'Blem'.
Apparently means blemish. Unsure on severity of blem I duly enquired, whilst looking at word burned in to tyre on the phone to the boss at N Hants, he told me in no uncertain way they would NEVER send out blems without letting customer know. He dismissed me outright, if I could of been arsed to prove the point I woud have, instead I will never buy nor recommend the shop ever again.
