spoke to Greg today, he done me a blinding deal on my camper insurance, and best of all he knows a bit about our sort of cars so didnt ask stupid questions. id recomend giving him a call, even got discount for being on RnS so a thumbs up for the site too.

I can whole heartedly recommended this Service !!. :cool: Greg has just given me a quote of just £200 @ 3k P/Year Mileage for my Customized 1985 Bedford CF 250, with 4.6 Rover EFi V8 & ZF Autobox, Body Mods, etc, etc. :shocked: The quote also includes an Agreed Valuation, as well Uk & European Breakdown Cover !. thanks!!! Greg sorted out my model a insurance it was simple and hassle free. it was nice to talk to someone who knew what i was talking about

One thing i really want to understand is why you only insure people 25 and over? when i own a pop with a 3.5 rover in it producing around 110bhp and can't get insured, but i can get insurance on a 2L 180bhp car.

After a hectic few months, Cherished Vehicle Insurance has finally moved office!! We have moved from Fort Dunlop to the centre of Birmingham.

Hey Dave, yeah its still ongoing been a bit of head scratching antics but its getting there...The steering racks currently being threaded up and having adjuster bars made to take both Ford (Metric) Thread and PA Cresta (Imperial) Left Hand thread a nightmare in itself as trying to find that kind of a thread is rocking horse doo doo!!

Im not gona make the Hayride again!! Work in general, work on the kar and saving for a house has put a squeeze on what I can go out and do...but have a beer for me dude!!

Just a line to say thanks to Greg (Primiyive Zed) for ringing me today regarding insurance for my toys. Not only did he know what I wanted but immediately reduced my premium by £70 for like for like cover and set up a multi car policy at a super price when my other policy comes up for renewal.

Well, I hate to be posting this to be honest, but I had my chips well and truly P#ssed on earlier today !!. I had already got a quote from Greg for my Bedford CF Custom Van, and was more than happy with it, but had decided to postpone taking out the Policy, until some further finishing off works had been completed. Anyhow, during this time, I was contacted by someone very keen to buy the van from me, and at a price that I was happy with. Trying to be helpful, and get Greg`s company the on-going custom, I told this person to contact Greg/Cherished Vehicle Insurance, and get quoted, as obviously they already held all of the Vans details etc. A short while later, I received a call from my "Buyer", saying that they would no longer Insure this Vehicle !!. Not knowing WTF was going on, I got on the phone to Greg, who confirmed this. Apparently, their Insurer, (KGM), will no longer as of the 1st of August 2011, Insure Vehicles with "Extra" I.C.E, and other Electronics !!. I`m finding ths hard to swallow, as just about every vehicle I have ever owned as a "Keeper", has had its I.C.E Improved/Uprated etc, etc. What is even crazier, is that a 9" x 4" Flat Screen Monitor, which is linked up to a Reversing Camera, is also deemed as "Unsuitable", even though its a safety feature !!. Apparently, you can have practically anything under the Bonnet, (except NOS), Body Mods, Alloys, Custom Paintwork etc, etc, but you cant have a half decent Stereo, or a little Internal LED Lighting, or LCD Screens, etc, as there have been too many recent Claims due to theft of "Non Standard Electronic Equipment" from Vehicles !!. The upshot of all of this, is that for the last few hours, I have been frantically passing further Specialist Insurer`s phone no`s & details over to my "Buyer", hoping that he can get a Reasonable Quote from somewhere else a bit sharpish, or I will have lost the Sale. Also, if I had not found all of this out today as I have done, and gone to Insure the van in good faith as per the quote I had already received from Greg/C.V.I, I would have myself been refused Insurance. Surely, the right way about this would have been for KGM to have Excluded anything "Non Standard" from being covered on the Policy, and not just refuse to Insure the vehicle full stop ??!!. There is also going to be an obvious Impact on people already Insured prior to 01.08.11, and who have "Extra" I.C.E etc fitted, when they come to renew their Policy !!.

I fully expect Greg to answer this post, so would stress that this is nothing personal against him, and understand that he is himself not "over impressed" with the situation, as he and his company are going to lose Future Custom, but I really dont know where all of this is leading, i;e - Is this yet another "ploy" to get Modified/Customized/Rodded Cars off the roads ?, so that we all have no choice in the future to drive Factory Standard poxy "Euroboxes", and Electric Vehicles etc, etc. You tell me !!.

We do cover genuine Custom Cars, Hot Rods, Yanks and Classics...

we want to keep these vehicles alive and on the road just as much as everyone else in the whole scene and thats what im here to try and help people do...

Okay we don't do NOS...other companies do and if we cant. I do point them in the right direction

and again regards the I.C.E. issue with the CF your prospective purchaser was given details for other insurance brokers that could well help with his matter to try and help with your sale...

One thing you can do for me Greg, is to keep this at the back of your mind, and if KGM, or anyone else that you should decide to use as an Underwriter, Revues their Policy Terms & Conditions in respect of I.C.E etc, then please get in touch. It looks as if I`ll be keeping my CF Custom Van after all, as the sale has in fact fallen through this afternoon, but due more to Totally Unrealistic Buyer Expectations than Insurance worries !!. I`m considering posting in the "Rants" Section regarding this issue. :mad:
