On Any Sunday (the original, not the sequel). No cars, only bikes, but the best motorcycle film ever made by far.

Watch the 10 minute car chase scene from 7 ups - early 70's film starring Roy Sheider. This is from the same team who produced Bullet and French Connection - OK the cars are 73's and just past the muscle era, and the sounds of the Poncho are dubbed from Bullet! - Stunt driving is done by Bill Hicksted. Recognise the baddie driving the car being chased by Shieder? (same driver as baddies Charger in Bullet!)

I was told about American Grafitti by a friend and I finally got round to watching it. Its such a good film. I also like Hot Rod, after watching it at this years Nats. I also love Gone In 60 Seconds.
California Kid not on the list yet?
'Return to Macon County' was also run as 'Highway Girl'
Not really 'car movies' but movies that car guys should enjoy .
The Last Picture Show
Badlands
High tec rods.....elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.
