once the convertor and cooler lines fill up along with all the internal oilways it'll take the rest of the fluid. run through the gear selector sequence (with the engine running) park to 1st a few seconds in each then back again. do this a couple of times, recheck the level and top up.
dont give up its just playing mind games with you
love the build that engine wow puts mine to shame
The engine is beautiful, love daimler v8s :smoke:
What have you done about steering? You using the firenza rack or a steering box??
It's a firenza rack.
It's stopped leaking fluid for now, I will have to get the colander repaired/ recored. I hope it's man enough for the motor!
It's put up a fight all day. Popped and farted a few times. Caused me to check my sanity and recheck
The firing order/ timing etc. turned out one carb wasn't gravity feeding correctly. One last try at 9:45. Battery died. Oh well I finish work about 4:00 tomorrow. I'm going to borrow a f***ing big battery and charger and get some 4 star and try again.
It lives! Nice new cables/connectors and decent fuel supply an it ran. I couldn't believe it started an idled without adjustment. Once I have the rad back I'll set the timing dynamically and post a video. I have a smile that can't be wiped.
brilliant well done:tup:
Ain't that a wonderful feeling? Well done!
Glad you didn't give up on it, I'm looking forward to parking up next to it one day and hearing it run... love old Daimler hemi's...
nice build, keep it up.
Thanks chaps! Mind you at £2.05 a litre the 4 star will be a rare treat!
