It ran great for about 5 minutes....... Then came the smoke! Bugger. Oil coming from the header flange. I pulled the right hand head, hoping I might have a stuck ring. And there is a score right up the bore on number 8 cylinder. Shame cos after 50 ish years there's bugger all wear!!!
Yihaa! I just won one on eBay! Lets hope it's real and as good as described! Just need some good weather to tidy out my garage and let the real fun begin.
Thanks for the update - good progress.
- is the new engine a good one?
those exhausts are very neat
Still smokes. I have modded it to take stem seals on the inlets. I am going to see what happens after it gets a good run. I don't like to run it for long as I'm in the middle of a housing estate.
I'm 50 next year and want to drive it then. I have some more updates tonight and I'm having a week of next week to get on with it.
Some real nice fabrication work going on there.
Any more pics of the servo mount/lincage

Coming on well , great attention to detail, love the home grown hemi keep up the good work.
The pedal assembly mounts to captive nuts welded to the new bulkhead and to the dash cross bar (new). The servo is a landie discovery unit (I like landies as I will always get bits) the cross bar, pedal and bell crank are all Saab 95. The bracket is 4mm Dural ( easy to cut and weld). A few paper templates and some kart steering joints and tube and your done.
