Today I decided to sort out this lot, its two panels spot welded together seemingly to create a brilliant rust trap! The rust was confined to the flat panels & outrigger:
Removed the lot & fabricated a new outrigger.
Then cut a new (lower) panel out of a sheet of 18 gauge & fitted it. The only problem was how to form the recess where the body mount goes through.
I knew I'd seen the shape somewhere before then it dawned on me:
There will be no more home made jam tarts at our house. The shape was identical to the original and as the baking tray was a good quality one the metal was thick, the cheap versions are too thin.
Does Sheila know...???
Fueled by Jim and Luckies.
Still doing all the shit I used to ;-)
Awesome use of random sheet metal repairs. love the idea to use the "yorkshire pudding tin".

I`ve heard of warped tarts before, but that sort never crossed my my mind
