    Austin Martin is online now
Been there, etc, annoyingly you can put hardener in acrylic, and you think all is going well; I mixed red and yellow together in the gun, halfway through, my orange stripe turned red with yellow speckles, and on opening the gun, all the yellow had settled at the bottom! don't use stuff someone gives you /sells you, other than a paint suppliers (as if you need me to tell you)
Just a passer by as you might say.

Acrylic paint isn't oil based. You can get single pack acrylic, which doesn't require a hardener, as it air dries, OR, you can get a two pack (2K) acrylic which chemically dries with a hardener added to it, to make it cure (paint and hardener making it two pack). Oil based paints are often referred to as "coach paint" or "synthetic" paint, which again uses thinners, but takes much longer to dry. Oil based isn't used much nowadays, but was the paint of choice for commercial use "back in the day"

Got a few hours today. And a friend round to help get the motor back in.
So.... 4 bolt 350 crate motor with a TH 350. And a 671 blower for kicks.
Prop shaft and all hard brake lines fitted.
Hand brake lever and gear shifter back on too.
Hedders fitted and hooked up to the system.
Think thats about it for today.
    Have a few pics.......

Bit more paintwork. Front grille, Headlights, Screen surround and a few small bits.
Also dyed the cream leather on the steering wheel. And added a bit of Skullery.....
