Swage lines aside the rear of the cab is looking excelent, Your vision is spot on ?
I love these old cars but always thought the back window to be too narrow, do you have any plans in that direction
Injection is nice but I'd rather be Blown
Hi mate, thank you for the comments . No plan for the rear window I like the size myself .I could have cut the rear of the cab in the middle and stretched it by the 70mm needed to bring the body back in line .This would have saved me loads of work( just one 70mm strip through the middle ) sounds daft but I wanted to keep some of the original designs .Swage lines aside ???
This build gets better and better
Absolute quality, I know how hard it is to do metalwork and you make it look simple keep up the good work can't wait to see it finished
Wow you have been busy , fantastic bodywork skills you have. I have a 38 chev pickup in the build stages but nothing on your scale,do you still have the original running boards as i need a pair. Nige
Many thanks for the comments guys, if you still want to see more I'll keep posting .Not much progress this weekend . I have made a basic external frame for the new floor to sit on . The reason for doing this is that the new rear cab lower corner has no mounting point so seemed a waste of time doing a temporary mount . The other reason for the frame work is that I now have some datum points to start fabbing the O/S cab corner ,sill and return .I have also made up a closing panel for the inner rear corner , this allows me to get a final position for the new lower corner and gives me a perfect pattern for the O/S. Couldn't get any good pics of the closing panel inplace (not very exciting any way). Then just a couple of pics of the O/S before starting to glue some new metal in !!!!!!!!.I will send you a PM Nige about the running boards ( not good news I'm afraid ).
Brilliant bit of work Mark if you want some compound curve bits you are welcome to come and spend a day in my garage and you can use my english wheel if that would help some of those awkward bits. If you bring some templates for the curves you want I'm sure you'd be able to bang some out in no time.
