Today's fiddling in the sweat box!!!!.Now I have the shape of the cab corner I can make up all the closing panels and start working on the outer panels.
The first few pics just show the closing panels taking shape .

The next pics show the lower body panel in the early stages ( the lower flange is folded but the returns at either end will be welded on tomorrow when I am happy with the shape of the rear fender and cab)

The last pics are just the lower fender taking shape .This piece is very different from the original as it longer (to meet the running board ) and the mounting flange is straight but the new body side is very curved so this has to be curved as well ( hopefully the pics explain it better than me

Bit of a different post this time.It is really just to say a big thank you to Zane at Zannetec Motorsports for the great work on my axle .I contacted Zane about narrowing the truck axle , he was very helpful on the phone so I decide to load it up and drive up to his workshop.I explained what I need ed (narrowing , centre the pinion and check it over). He stripped the axle then contacred me to go through the gearing , we decide to change the gears as the rear tyres are 30" tall the originals weren't going to be suitable. So the axle was narrowed to 51 3/4"with new Moser shafts ,rebuilt diff with new gears and new bearings and shims. Thanks again Zane,

Thank you for the comments guys Again I have been side tracked modifying workshop equipment but I got back on with tin bashing today.I had already shaped up the bed sides along time ago to check the proportions but stopped short as I didn't know the exact shape of the cab.So to cut along story short this is why this part of the bed side is made of three pieces .I can not believe how long this panel has taken but apart from the top edge there is return flange either welded on or formed .Enough of my rambling here's a couple of pics.

Got a little bit done this weekend. First few pics are of the closing panel that sits inside the outer panel that gives me a flange to weld to.A bit of a tricky piece to make but I couldn't see another way over it !!!.The next couple of pics show the inner support panel ( the large hole is so that I can still get my hand in to plannish the outer panel ).The last pics are showing these pieces mocked up in position. There will be a wheel tub piece made later to cover to fender bolt threads .
