    40 Sedan

Well, here's my first 40, imported it about 4 yeears ago, had a little work done, realised it was too much work for me and moved it on, I'm pretty sure it's now owned by F-THIS on here.
Here's a pick of how it was when I imported it, and one when it went.

And here's my current 40, a lot less work, tho it seems to be taking me a long time to get it back on the road. Hopefully this year, but i've said that before!

It's gonna be a mild custom/resto to start with, keep the paint, mexican blankets, skirts and caddy caps. Drive it like that for a while, and see what happens.

For a while, i owned both at the same time...

Seeing all the great work going on has 'inspired' me to add an update. So, all suspension has been out, front bones split, bought tci splitter kit, decided i didn't want urathane bushes, so had a new mount made using tierod ends. After a couple of goes at tweaking the spring perches, it looks like it's gonna work.
Although the car is a deluxe, it came with friction shocks and no anti sway bar. Again, bought a front shock mount kit, but on fitting decided i didn't like the way it worked, so have located some 40 top shock mounts, some 36 perch bolts with a tapered fitting on them, and had some tapered bottom shock mounts knocked up. This is looking much better, basically a copy of the original deluxe 40 stuff that i didn't have.
Rear end, pancaked the crossmember, twice...school boy error on angles, but i'm over it now. Looking for bottom shock mounts, didn't want to weld brackets to the axle, and had seen the 46-48? ford rear mounts, but we're too much for me at the time. Going thru the bits i had bought for it, i realised that i had two sets of dropped steering arms. The second set has now become my bottom shock mount. The bolt holes are the same front to back, I just moved them thru 90 degrees, knocked up a spacer, had another set of tapered studs knocked up to go in the tie rod eye mounts, and there it is. Still looking at top mounts, either the speedway style stud in the crossmember, or i saw recently an f100 mount bolted horizontally on the inside of the frame rail for a rear mount. Looked good.
Also been trying to run the exhaust. As I want to drop the W motor in it later, the front half from the flattie is steel, as it will need changing, but from the mufflers back is stainless. Boy what a pain. i'm trying to keep it all up above the chassis, it's tight, and bloody awkward working under the car.Spent 3 hours(one evening) on one bend, trying to get the angle, cutting, tacking, cutting, tacking. Almost got it all connected on one side, then thought I may well want the car lower at some point, so the axle kickup would need to be higher, and the boot floor would have to be raised!! So, that's on going.
I've got the 'bolt in' adapptor for the dual circuit master cylinder in, and have run all the brakelines, repaired the passenger side floor, made up the drivers side, and a fair few other little jobs, but thats it. Last July other 'stuff' took over, and I only got back in the garage last week. I don't know when it will be out, but i'll keep plugging away..
