That is the last time you are allowed round Carter giving the game away like that.

I have been finishing off my last garage build over the last couple of months but have done some work in between.

I had the chassis blasted and 2k primed and painted it with satin black after I had smoothed out all of the fabrication joints.

Re assembled the chassis and rolled it under

Painted the under side of the shell again with 2k satin black including the bulkhead and lowered it back on the chassis I have also fitted the engine and box and connected the steering.

    A small overdue update.

Mostly body work, At some time the Chev had been slammed in the rear and the boot had been repaired on the outside quite well with lead but the inside struts had been cut out and badly welded back. Over the years the steel had rusted from under the lead so no choice but to weld a new piece in.

After some dolly work and filling all looks ok now

All the wings needed some patching and had rubbed every gate post on Kansas so lots of small dings on each corner that could not be seen with the hand painted orange.

So it is all in primer and pretty much all to shape.

I have fitted the Intercooler and aftermarket oil cooler behind the grill along with fan and a series2 landrover rad it all goes in quite neatly.

I have filled the glovebox and gauge holes as it is converted to RHD, I have bought a pair of 5" quad gauges to fit the original holes.

Next job is getting it running now the inside is painted, The complete BMW wiring loom is out in one piece, the plan is to fit it into the Chev un cut and use all of the BMW system for the whole car.

There are basically 2 looms with there own fuse/relay boxes. the one on the left covers all the engine and lighting circuits which will fit very neatly in the R/H bulkhead in the engine bay just the same as the BMW. I have cut a hole ready to thread the wires through.

Have been chipping away at the list of jobs.

I have had a stainless steel fuel tank from a Scimitar lying around for 14 years from my first rod donor. It is a perfect fit for the chev, I cut the plastic top off the BMW tank which holds the pump etc and bolted it to the stainless tank with a home made swirl pot welded to the bottom which holds the remote pick up.

Fitted a tow bar from a 200SX which has a removable swan neck ball

Fitted the original BMW exhaust which only needed a couple of inches cut out of the downpipe to clear the gearbox cross member

Fitted hidden hinges to the boot

    With remote boot opening

    Fitted MG Midget front lamps
