So brave or foolish? moved the B posts back, need to make new inner sill sections though. Finished welding axle , it was tack welded all round and its still moved . Looks like its a ratchet strap and oxy to fix that. Roof will take a bit of working out , the infill has a joint at front and will be "easy " to alter I think .

Todays venture, boxed diff mounts then did a lot of pondering . In the end cut floor /inner sill out and made an extra body mounting, roll cage will be going behind B post so will give it something to work off .
A while back I asked how many beetle steering columns do you need , well the answer is 5 (or 6) as I was looking for mini throttle pedal I found an off cut . Now need tube for 4 bar and its seam less 4mm wall and 22mm dia so dragged them back out of scrap pile . I recon they will be strong enough and will take an 18 mm thread to make adjustable. So todays work in pics

Did some wrist physio today , work out with angle grinder . It does help . Sorted tube for 4 bar then made a start on front suspension, using MGB lower arms . Was going to make tube ones but budget has vanished , lot of cutting again .

Today I feel a bit tapped, cut the threads (18mm) in 2 of the 4 bar links and then the 5/8th ones for upper front wishbone . Chuffed with the weld on link, front suspension just tacked as its a design as it gets made job . Its a bugger not having a lathe , T square and file just dosnt cut it ! and took ages to get the tube ends square. Rose joints ordered for front .

Sorted rear axle, ended up with a slice and weld to get tracking right. Put axle in place and set chassis ride height to cruising, that meant making some very short stands to go under frame horns (7in) . Luckily there were 2 knackered ones in scrap pile. Watts linkage sorted, waiting on hole saw to make plates for 4 bar. As you all like pics (and who doesn't) this is rear axle , now there is air bags and dampers to go in there and no room for exhaust.

True but I would like to hear the radio on the M way (must be getting old), aiming for a nice rumble . Rose joints and lock nuts turned up, threaded inserts from same place not . My fault did separate orders .
Tomorrow will fit wheel to front hub and check lower wishbone setting and see what room there might be for air bag, still looks like air bag coil over. Shortest one I have found is to tall though

can't you make the axle brackets drop down from the tube to allow for the long bagovers?
