TBH it looks a lot worse than it is and stuff like this never bothered me (okay maybe a bit of head scratching) its the packaging that takes some planning , need to find/make a heater box . I want a decent heater so a mini one wont do , this will be my daily.

Fried the grey matter today sorting loom, took the airbag wiring out , stripped the fuel pump/gauge and rear abs wiring separate so I could route it better and wrapped it in old style loom wrap . Have loads of rolls that were given to me 40 odd years ago, bit of a pain to use but looks like factory . Lots of spare plugs /wire that will be stripped when I work out what they are, getting used to reading the wiring diagram. Still not found where all the plugs go on engine yet-------
Looks like ABS pump will have to be mounted higher, cant work that out till front wheels are on . Trouble is the relay board / ECU has to go in a box there.

Sorted the wiring as far as I can , found a big crate to put it all in. Bloody heavy , was hard to lift onto top shelf. Managed to get seat down from roof space, got a hook under it and slide it to the edge and then balance it on my head to lift it down. Set it in place and tried to line up steering column , looks like the Omega one will be the best . Will need to angle the seat slightly and there is only just enough room to get at handbrake between seats, my 6ins lengthening worked spot on as the B post is on my shoulder now . More fun and games tomorrow making the pedal /column brace bar then starting to make the dash.

Taking ages to make seat mountings, inner one made and welded in. Had to alter outer one , think it might have been better to start again but have no steel. Its all ready to weld together now. Cross brace made but waiting till seat fitted as need to see where column goes as it might be braced from the pedal bracket.
Spent some time this morning finding all my steering shaft bits, looks like I have enough to make one up. Gave up on the electric column but then as its going to be running 165/15s it might be okay

that's all looking much better, i like to be sat up higher in a car/van. i don't get slouching back in the seat down close to the floor, you can't see or (for me) feel in control properly if you're not sat up in a good driving position. not getting the sun in your eyes is a bonus

Cold one today, bbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrr , doing n/s seat mounting . Run out of sheet steel again , have enough to dummy up dash. Flask of tea and another of coffee to keep me going and a fan heater to warm my hands , its about as useful as a candle in a Dutch barn---------------

Today I have been mostly making panels, mount for under seat storage boxes that doubles up as a strengthening brace to stiffen up floor . Forward section of floor has lost rigidity as theres a big hole for gearbox!! and the original seat mounts have been removed, looking at it now the chassis has been changed the gearbox should drop out the bottom so started making a new tunnel that will add stiffness . So thats a load of welding tomorrow.
