    63 C10 - Alter ego

    Hi all,

Since i've made a nuisance of myself recently asking all sorts of questions thought it was only right to stick a few pics up of my Truck

I've had some amazing help so far from a few forum members, to the point where I'm blown away by peoples willingness to help, restores faith in Humanity

So aside from piccies everyone likes a story, I've been heavily into Vw's for many years and I guess a good few Vw fans find their way into the American scene eventually. I toyed with Yank Trucks a while back when I was skint (not a wise move) a super clean F plate F150, sold it soon after and regretted it so hankered after another Truck but wanted an older model.

This cropped up on Ebay a few times, I rang the owner who said despite loads of Ebay msgs and texts I was the first one to actually speak to him, i agreed to bob down and have a look.

It was everything I wanted in a Truck really, I'm not a loud shouty person and have quite good restraint so the name above "Alter ego" fits quite well as this truck is low and loud, Very shouty and very very loud.

The owner turned the key and without saying anything to him I'd already bought it in my mind

The test drive it was baking hot, the collection day was torrential rain, the gap in the lower windscreen rubber wasn't kind to me !!
It sways all over, is ear splitting loud with a constant thud of the exhaust and feels like it's gonna drop to bits if I hit 60mph (that's if I knew how fast I was going) but......I love it, my kids love it and most importantly for happy vintage vehicle ownership, for the first time in roughly 200 Vw's I've owned......my wife loves it

enough waffle, piccies (i'm sure someone on here will know it already)

I'll list its faults in another post

cheers Barney, is that the thing in the back that weighs more than Jonny Vegas in his prime ??!! I'd love one of the bumpers like the front to match but I guess they're a million quid and 2 million quid shipping and import duty

It's at my mates now having mundane things like a washer bottle and the highbeam foot pedal thingy replaced, oh and we need to look at the steering aSAP !!

I'll report in piccies when there's something to show

The storage chest is from the old F150 I mentioned, typically its a nats too wide to sit nicely in the bed, once in I can't open either end. grrrr

Well wadya know, I posted the truck on another forum I visit regularly and the guy who helped build the truck before the PO had it has been in touch, I'm very excited to hopefully get a bit of history on the truck, I'll report back when we've made contact.

That's the kiddy. Ironically I've got a brand new unfitted chrome Sport bumper which I'd been trying to swap for a painted / Barden one for years..!

However am now going to vinyl wrap it and the shape fits with my plans for a removable hitch. That said, send me some more pics if you can, as I do like them..
